"amazement, joy, air, fun, pleasure, avitation, beauty, joke, colors, antigravity" - Probably with these keywords could descride my tonight's show. Yes, I was one of the luckiest persons, who attended Cirque Du Soleil presentation in Bratislava.
Just arrived home, still amazed and immediately started to search for Youtube videos about this circus. Circus. It reminds me my (our) childhood, when my (our) parents and teachers took me (us) to a place, where some costumed people were making some stupid show for children under 10 years. A place full of horses, tigers, lions and monkeys and of course we can't forget about the annoying clown with red nose. I don't want to criticize, becasue we liked it. It was fun. Since that we grew up and we realized, hitting and terrorizing poor animals does not really worth for our fun. It's not funny anymore and as usual we always want something more, something new.
Here we got it!!! It's called: Cirque Du Soleil. Circus. First of all I don't really want to use this word for this something I saw tonight, because trust me this show was not even close to meaning "circus". It's almost impossible to describe this 2hours performance, but of course I'll try it. :) Still looking for correct words and indicators, but what I really want to say (and suggest): YOU HAVE TO SEE IT WITH YOUR OWN EYES!
Show Saltimbanco is the one of their most famous world-known performance. I would like to show you the official trailer of it.
Saltimbanco is from the Italian "saltare in banco" which means "jump in the bench". The colored stage is full of top artist from several countries (1 from Slovakia!) in colored dresses. While I was sitting and watching, I felt like lying in a flowery meadow with dancing little elves around me. Really :) I have never seen so many colors in one place before.
When you are about to watch Cirque Du Soleil forget about animals and animal cruelty. There are no animals. Anyway, they don't really need that. They have TALENT instead of it. And talent is far enought to entertain 5000 people at the same time. Yes, the area was full, tickets sold out.
I'm not going to describe the individual performances. I collected some videos about the bests in my eyes. Watching the Chinese Poles (click) in the air on the poles in the most colorful costumes I was amazed, watching Duo Trapeze (click) girls at height with their graceful movements I was afraid and while watching Russian Swing (click) I just said: WTF! :)
But it was soooo funny, tears in my eyes and almost fell off the chair from laughing. He is supergood, skillful, spontaneous, one of the world's best impovisers. In one part he calls someone from the audience to the stage, here is a video about Jesko (click), but I have to say here in Bratislava the Slovak guy was simply awesome, played the role very good.
In summery I just want to thank for possibility to attend this event. I was more than satisfied and I really recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a qualitative program, than this is it!
